Scholarships
ARC and Seattle Parks and Recreation are committed to serving all community members recreation and life long learning needs. ARC, its member advisory councils and Parks all contribute to a scholarship fund that is distributed based on financial eligibility of each participant or family.
Each year, we receive more applications for aid than we are able to fund. With your help, we can increase our scholarships to all youth, adults and families who qualify for a scholarship.
If you would like to make a donation to the ARC Scholarship Fund, please contact us at 206-684-5177. Your donation is tax deductible.
Capital Improvement Projects
ARC and its member advisory councils assist Seattle Parks and Recreation creating new facilities or expanding and renovating current facilities to meet new program needs citywide. Current projects include:
Mount Baker Boathouse Expansion Project
Since its opening in 1985, the Mount Baker Rowing & Sailing Center on Lake Washington has hosted an array of programs, classes, and activities to engage the community in healthy activities on the water. Its popularity has exceeded its capacity for both facility usage and equipment storage. More information about the current capital campaign can be found on the Seattle Parks & Recreation website here.
If you would like to make a donation to the Mount Baker Boathouse expansion project, please contact us at 206-684-5177. Your donation is tax deductible.
Ravenna-Eckstein Playground and Park Renovation: Phase II
What started as a community dream in 2004 has become a reality in 2008. Neighbors banned together to begin the planning of a new Playground and Neighborhood Park. After a successful fundraising effort highlighting the support for this project from the community, a new playground was dedicated in September of 2008.
The dream continues with phase 2 of the project. Plans are in the development process to create a community garden, resurface the hardcourts, and refurbish the walking track in the upper playfield. Your support is needed to make this part of the neighborhood dream come true.
If you would like to donate to this phase of the project, please contact us at 206-684-5177. Your donation is tax deductible.
