The environmental learning centers offer many opportunities for teens to learn about the environment, volunteer, and receive service learning credits, too!

Technology Programs

Youth can take classes in Music Appreciation, Animation-Stop Motion, Digital Art and Illustration, Creative Writing, Web Design, Flash Animation, Digital Photography, Radio Rookies, and Video Production.  Have another idea for a class?  Come in and let us know! Every location also hosts "Teen Time" Monday-Thursday from 2:30-4 pm.  Get help with your homework, complete school projects using the computers, or come on in to focus on other academic, college prep or job skill opportunities!

Youth must be in 6th grade or older to participate in classes and programs in the labs.

RecTech Summer Internship Program

RecTech is currently accepting applications from youth ages 14-18 interested in one of the five opportunities at Delridge Community Center, Garfield Teen Life Center, Rainier Beach Community Center, Rainier Community Center, and South Park Community Center. Applications are due at 5 PM on Friday, May 29, 2009. Late applications cannot be accepted.
